Optimizing Your Copilot Configuration

Once you registered an account on JobCopilot, click the “Setup your first copilot” button.

Then follow these steps to configure your copilot:

Step 1 - Location and Job Title preferences

Remote Job Locations

Toggle on Remote Jobs if you are looking for remote jobs.

You can select Worldwide (jobs that can be done from anywhere in the world) or select jobs coming from specific countries or regions.

⚠️ Important: if you select specific countries /regions, it means your copilot will only look for jobs that have been posted from companies based in these specific countries / regions.

💡See examples of Remote Job Locations configurations

On-site Jobs / Hybrid

Toggle on On-site / Hybrid if you are looking for on-site or hybrid jobs.

On each copilot, you can select multiple cities within one country. If you want to search on-site jobs in multiple countries, you need to create an additional copilot for each country (on the Elite plan you can create up to 3 copilots).

Job Types

You can select full-time, part-time, contractor / temp or internships.

⚠️ Important: Employers sometimes mistake the “Contractor / Temp” job type to classify their job. If you are looking for “Contractor / Temp” jobs then we recommend to also select “Fulltime” and “Part-time” so that you don’t miss out on jobs. You can always explain to the employer later that you prefer a contract position.

Job Titles

Enter the primary job title that you are looking for and related job titles. You can enter up to 5 job titles so make sure you add synonyms to your primary job title.

Step 2: Advanced Filters

Increase Job Match

Turn on this feature for your copilot to target jobs where you’re a strong fit and exclude less suitable jobs.

Adjust the threshold to control how closely jobs must match your profile before your copilot applies:

  • Higher: Apply to jobs where you meet more than half of the key requirements.
  • High: Apply to jobs where you meet most of key requirements.
  • Highest: Apply to jobs where you meet all of the key requirements.

⚠️Important: when this feature is activated, your copilot will compare your CV to jobs. If your CV doesn’t have enough information or if the information in your CV is not relevant to the jobs you are applying for, then your copilot won’t be able to match you to many jobs. Make sure that your CV is at least 2 pages long. Read this guide on how to build an ideal CV.

Seniority Levels

You can filter Seniority levels. Here’s an explanation of each level:

  • Entry Level: 💼 0-2 years’ experience. Individuals right out of school or with a basic understanding of their role and industry.
  • Associate Level: 💼 2-5 years’ experience. Individuals who have gained some experience and have a good understanding of their role and industry.
  • Mid-to-Senior Level: 💼 5-10 years’ experience. Experienced professionals who can handle complex tasks, manage junior staff, and potentially lead projects.
  • Director Level and above: 💼 10+ years’ experience. These are leadership or high-level managerial roles. Individuals at this level are responsible for setting strategies, overseeing multiple teams, and ensuring the success of their business unit or the entire organization.

⚠️Important: in case you are looking for entry level jobs, then we recommend that you lower the threshold to “High” rather than “Higher/Highest”, otherwise it may not be able to match you to jobs. Also make sure you add enough information in your CV that is relevant to the jobs you are searching for (as mentioned in the section above).

Include Keywords (Job Description)

Use this feature if you are looking for jobs that contain very specific keywords in the job description. For example if you absolutely want to work for a Startup  or in the Logistics industry then you can add these keywords to the INCLUDE keyword list. Your copilot will only apply to positions containing these keywords.

⚠️ Important: We don’t recommend using both “Increase Job Match” and “Include Job Description Keywords” unless your copilot is selecting jobs that are not relevant to you. Only use “Include Job Description Keywords” if the job results given by “Increase Job Match” are not narrow enough for you.

Exclude Keywords (Job Description)

The opposite of the feature above. This allows you to exclude jobs that contain any of the keywords you list.

Examples of how Exclude keywords work:

If your copilot applies to jobs from industries that you are not interested in, such as “Manufacturing” or “Electronics”, then you can add these words in the EXCLUDE keywords.

Next time your copilot will skip all jobs that contain either “Manufacturing” or “Electronics” in the job description.

⚠️ Important: Do not add generic words in the Exclude keywords such as “junior”, “senior”, “sales”, “marketing”, etc. These will lead to your copilot excluding a lot of jobs. – use “Increase Job Match” instead.

Exclude companies

Use this to add names of companies that you don’t want your copilot to apply to. These could be your current and previous company names for example.

Salary

Filter the monthly salary of full-time, part-time, contract / temp and internships based on the job types you selected in step 1.

⚠️ Important: enter monthly salaries, not yearly

Step 3: Upload your CV and personal details

In this section, you give all the necessary (and optional) information for your copilot to accurately answer Job Application screening questions on your behalf.

  • Upload your CV/Resume in Word or in PDF format.
  • Upload a generic Cover Letter, or let our AI automatically tailor Cover Letters for each job (recommended).
  • Provide your contact information and current location.
  • Enter your current or previous job title.
  • Specify your availability/notice period.
  • Confirm your work eligibility (your copilot will only apply to jobs for which you eligible legally)
  • Enter your current and expected salary
  • Enter your Linkedin Profile URL

The next part allows you to fill in optional questions. The more information you give, the more accurate your copilot will answer application questions, so we recommend you fill in the optional questions as well

Step 4: Activate your Copilot

There 2 options for you to choose:

OR

🅱️ Your copilot can auto-fill applications for your to review before submitting (90% automated, with human review)

If it’s your first time trying JobCopilot, we recommend you start with the second option. Once you’re satisfied with how your copilot responds, then you can switch it to full job application automation.
